The Flower Festival in St Mary’s Church, Fairford

10th to 14th June 2010

The Flower Festival was in celebration of the completion of the restoration of the medieval stained glass windows which took 23 years thanks to the Friends of Fairford Church. All the arrangements reflected, in some way, the windows they represented. A wonderful fragrance filled the Church and all the flower arrangements were in total harmony with the architecture, complimenting and enhancing a beautiful church.

A great deal of planning went into the festival which was first muted in 2009. The St Mary's Flower Arranging Team put a lot of effort into the arrangements. Thanks go to them and Alison Godsal and Heather Gorton who planned the Festival, the Mothers' Union who are celebrating their centenary and the children from the Sunday School and Fairford Primary School who were organised by Kathleen Hall, Joanne Roberts and Wendy Close.
